The Brookhaven Philly Deaf meeting has changed from Saturdays to Sunday evening.  This change went into effect the first week of July 2009.  The time also changed from a 7:00 pm meeting start to 6:00 pm.  The day and time change is due to the need of many to be gone on Saturday evening and to make the meeting ending time a little earlier.

The benefit of this move has already paid-off as Pastor David, preaching a Deaf wedding in New Jersey last week did not have to miss last weekend's Philly Deaf meeting because it was held on Sunday and the Wedding was on Saturday.  We already see other events on the calendar that will become easier due to this change.

Philly Deaf is moving from this Brookhaven location in September of 2009

Philly Deaf (PD) has informed the First Church of God (FCOG) of Brookhaven, Pa that it will not renew the lease contract for a new year.   The current contract expires on August 30th, 2009.  Due to decreased income levels, the DC (Delaware County) Care Group will be leaving it's current home of 8 years and seeking a more affordable location for it's meetings.  It's been a terrific relationship that we've enjoyed with the leadership and constituency of FCOG, but have come to the place where the expense cannot be justified in light of the income levels and changes in ministry format.

As the Wilmington, DE Deaf ministry has established itself as of 2008, and other Deaf ministry options are available for the Pennsylvania Delaware County (namely: Covenant Fellowship Deaf Ministries), PD  is seeking a location that is closer to the South end of the city of Philadelphia proper and is easily accessible to I-95 travel.  We are currently looking at the Calvary Temple of South Philadelphia location and are in discussion with the leadership of that Hearing church.
